Obama is saddle sore from Saddleback Debate

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

By Ric Joyner

Obama showed his core beliefs at the Saddleback Church debate which is “redistribute wealth” by taxing the rich and many other socialistic leanings. The problem with taxing the rich thinking, is that being rich is a moving target. For example, I have relatives that are “rich” in farmland that will be sold for their retirement, but have lower  income now. Are they rich? Yes. Wealth, in the land puts them in the wealthy or rich category. But they don’t “feel” rich (their words) because the disposable income is not in their pocket NOW. But it will be in the future. Paying the bill when the land is sold from the tax increases, which  Obama enacts, will be payback for voting for him.

Historically the democrats “tax the rich” and the rich stop spending money. Who gets hurt when people stop spending money? Take a look at housing….slow now because folks aren’t spending… and the result is people are out of work. But the real question is; “who is better with my money…a bureaucrat in DC…or my family?” Those that want to tax the rich, don’t mind if the government taxes someone else, as long as it isn’t them.

McCain was clear on taxes. Let’s not tax anyone.

It was clear that Obama doesn’t do well in a personal debate, which John McCain excels. John McCain doesn’t do well as Obama in a prepared speech.

I was on the DailyKos Blogs, which is a left wing daily blog, earlier in the day on Saturday prior to Saddleback. I found the comments interesting as they focused on how Obama will show the world what a cool candidate he is, and turn John McCain into Elmer Fudd. During the debate, I watched the comments on Kos, and was surprised at the comments being shared that said Barack was doing poorly. Later in the day Kos posts began to coalesce that their “man” went into the lions den of Christians, and Obama was at an unfair advantage! Yikes, both candidates were given the questions ahead of time! Are Obama supporters whiners? The other thread that was on Kos was many Hillary supporters were saying “I told you so”.

The real Obama came out. Big government, redistribute wealth, and good feelings all around!

My opinion is that Obama is in a world of hurt and the polls are showing this fact.

Hillary says she will pull out the troops regardless of consequences!

She made an incredible comment of ignorance. Question what if your generals say that pulling troops out would be a disaster? “We do not know what will happen when we pull out”.

WE DO KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN. Our fallen heroes sacrifice will be for nothing! Hillary, do you remember Vietnam when the Democrats DEFUNDED the war and the communists won and experts say that over 5,000,000 people were massacred? Iraqi’s have died during the war, but many thousands more will die after the fundamentalists get a hold of the country and it will be a new terrorist base!  We will tell the world community that when the going gets tough the US gets going….with our tail between our legs.

She is playing to the liberal left which wants no wars at all even to defend ourselves.

Guest Commentary: Best health care anywhere is still in the United States — and in Naples

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

By By JOY ARPIN, M.D., Naples and Edinburgh, Scotland

Saturday, March 29, 2008

My husband’s life was saved by the cardiac team at NCH’s Downtown Naples Hospital.

Within two to three minutes of his walking into the emergency room, he had an EKG which diagnosed a massive heart attack. Treatment was initiated and within 30 minutes of his arrival he was in the cardiac angiography suite where an emergency angioplasty and stent insertion was done.

His previously asymptomatic extensive coronary artery occlusions required a quadruple-bypass procedure three days later when his condition stabilized.

The efficiency and competence of the NCH team is remarkable. And anyone who had arrived at the ER with similar symptoms would have been treated as expeditiously! This is the best health care in the world and the cardiac care at NCH is amongst the very best at any hospital in the United States.

Our summer home is in the United Kingdom, where the National Health Service’s failings are a constant topic in the news media. There are incredibly long wait lists to have an MRI or other investigative procedure, for referral to see a specialist for cancer or coronary care, or to have elective procedures (joint replacement, for example).

The care is rationed and anyone who can afford to doesn’t use it.

The government is always setting new “target times” for access to a specialist or for surgery. They talk in terms of months, not days.

There is a thriving private health-care sector and many of the affluent come to the U.S. for care. Even middle-class people elect to go to clinics in India for joint-replacement surgery rather than wait the 18 months or so in the NHS for treatment.

We very much enjoy our summers in the U.K., but I have no doubt that had my husband suffered the same event as occurred last week, he would not have had access to the remarkably high quality and rapid care that saved his life here in Naples.

While our experience is anecdotal, the statistics and data confirming the failings of government-run health-care systems in the U.K., Canada and elsewhere are readily available.

Our medical-insurance system may not be perfect, but to use the British or Canadian systems as models to improve ours is ridiculous.

I hope the public and the politicians look at the facts before we dismantle what we now enjoy.

“Change’’ is not always improvement.

Barack Obama’s speech: “I have had enough….”

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

By Ric Joyner

In contrast to Dr. King’s “I have a dream speech” Barack made the speech that may end his run for president.

The final determination of whether his speech had a positive or negative impact shall be  based on opinion, and will depend on who you are voting.

Let’s talk facts. Reverend Wright said these key items of hate speech from his pulpit.

1. The US attacked our own country on 9-11

2. The US injected aids into the black population

3. That Jesus was a black person and put down by rich white folks

Barack also said he would not disown Reverend Wright just as he wouldn’t his grandmother who occasionally said racist things. Thus, the conclusion is that Barack stands by his “man”. Standing by your man may cause the loss of your presidency. It will remain to be seen.

Good character aspect for Barack, but it is not enough because he is essentially saying that the black experience is different and that whites will never understand. For the candidate who wishes to unite the country he isn’t doing a good job. First, he hasn’t done anything to cross the isle in congress and work with republicans and he hasn’t done anything on race either. If a white preacher said racist and hateful comments, he would be run out of town on a rail by liberals, and the liberals would trash the white preacher unmercifully. But it is one of their own, and thus more difficult to sweep under the rug. Is it even possible for a liberal to be racist? If you use your common sense…it apparently is!

This will not go away for Barack and his national polls have dropped 17% nationwide in a week!

There is no such thing as common sense in the Democratic Senate

Friday, March 14th, 2008

By Ric Joyner

Hold on to your wallet….

The "Tax and Spend" democrats will never learn that you cannot tax people into prosperity. The Senate just passed the ability to end the Bush Tax Cuts and voted not to control spending! This will mean an added cost to working families and is horrible drain on the economy.

George Bush gave us tax cuts that got the economy moving again from the ravages of Bill Clinton’s tax increases, but didn’t reign in spending. The Senate Dems voted to kill the Bush tax cuts, and opposed spending cuts! So the definition of Tax and Spend Liberal still defines the  democratic party! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,337769,00.html

The incredible arrogance of this thinking is swallowed hook line and sinker by the "working Dems" as championing "tax the rich". The problem is they can’t define the rich when challenged! They also don’t realize that the rich pay most of the taxes in the country and provide jobs.

The "rich" are never really defined by the liberal Dems. But here is an article that lays out exactly the way people are taxed.

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1282/is_19_56/ai_n13673328

When I ask my relatives, who are die hard Dems, who believe in taxing the rich (even though it may be a widow in retirement) to let me know when they will see those tax cuts in their paycheck and helping the poor? They don’t have an answer except, you are a Bush fan and Bush is a liar…. They are not interested in conservative issues of not taxing and not spending. The Bush hating is all they have on their minds.

BTW when those tax bills come where do they go? Who do they pay? Certainly not the local merchant or the local poor.

Got another memorial we can build in DC?

Where is everyone’s common sense?

Liberals attack Liberals when Race is Mentioned

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

by Ric Joyner

Geraldine Ferraro was speaking at a conference, and a question was posed. Why do you think Barak Obama has gotten this far in his campaign?  She responded by stating that he was black, and that people were looking for a qualified black to run. Which is true. There is nothing demeaning in her comment.

She has been savagely attacked by the Obama campaign. BO is attempting to get her to resign from Clinton’s finance campaign. The problem? Geraldine has been a tireless advocate to end racism, and is only a fund raiser for Hillary. Thus what should she resign from?

Geraldine was on Fox News today, and was furious that the Obama campaign was on the attack. She has class, and stated that the Obama campaign will regret the attack because if he is nominated she would raise funds for him, unless the attacks continue.

The Obama campaign is prickly over the race issue, and anyone who discusses the issue is deemed a racism. These type of attacks are core to liberal thinking. Call someone a racist, if the generic topic is discussed or they disagree with you.

In my opinion, we need to talk about race, and have it out on the table. Calling someone racist stops discussion, and that may be the idea.

What happened to common sense?

Democrats recess—go on vacation without ensuring the safety of America!

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By Ric Joyner

The survellience of incoming emails and phone calls from known terrorists is on hold. The House Democrats recessed for vacation(!) (remember Bush and their complaints on his vacations?) leaving a hole in the ability to spy on terrorists! Do the democrats understand they are putting us at risk? Or do they honestly believe some of the liberal left which believe there is no terror war?

This is honestly a tragedy! Read on from CNN.com

No Time For Recess

http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/newstex/IBD-0001-23068825.htm

BTW (by the way) the hold up is that they want to give the ability to trial lawyers to sue telecom companies and ISPs (internet service providers) for cooperating with the government spying agencies!!! If you were an ISP would you cooperate without protection from trial lawyers? This is the equivelant of giving the terrorists the ability to sue telecoms! Is this aiding the enemy?  Call the house and tell them how you feel.  http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW.shtml

This is the democrats paying back the trial lawyers for their help during the 04 elections. Can someone please use some common sense!?

DUD Debate!

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By Ric Joyner

Picture a balloon with its air sputtering around the room. Fun to watch, but the end result is anti-climactic with a balloon on the floor and garbage to pick up.

I am now tired of the democratic debates. I felt drained afterward. How many debates, and how much can we learn after 20 plus?

Tedium is what I came away with last night. And boy can they sign autographs.

Here is what I learned.

Both candidates are naive. The jobs lost under NAFTA, that the Unions are ticked about, are manufacturing jobs. Are these the best jobs? John Stossel did research on these jobs outsourced overseas, and discovered that most people ousted by outsourcing found higher paying jobs that were easier on the body. Here is the web link for the articl from ABC’s 20/20.

No. 4 — MYTH: Outsourcing Is Bad for American Workers

http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Story?id=448934&page=3

Naive and bordering on socialism are their programs. Do these two candidates have degrees in economics? They both have law degrees so that may explain it!

Creating programs that take money away from the “rich” to give to everyone else.

John Stossel did another piece on Sharing is not Caring.

http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Stossel/story?id=3957544&page=1

I was surprised that Hillary was angry at Obama over the weekend, but showed none of her ire last night. The issue on health care differences is so minute that it created tedium when watching. In fact, all their programs are similar thus what are the real differences between them? I think the voters are answering that question.

I also realized Obama’s incredible inexperience is translating into policies or programs that will be difficult to get through Congress.  Even the universal health care plan is convoluted.

And they both didn’t answer the questions straight forward. Tim Russert had to bring Hillary back several times to answer the question.

Even writing this makes me tired!

Taxes under Clinton and under Bush—can you handle this?

Friday, February 15th, 2008

By Ric Joyner

Clinton inherited a great economy from Reagan. Notice when the economy started its slide was when the Clinton taxes engaged in 1999. This caused a sharp drop in the stocks, and put us in a mini recession, which the Bush tax cuts got us moving again. Now democrats want to raise taxes versus cut spending! Raising taxes will slow the economy…just exactly the strategy you don’t want! Give tax cuts to business, and individuals AND cut spending. That will keep the economy moving, and force the government to be fiscally responsible. Just like we all do with our own personal finances. McCain was against the Bush tax cuts which irked the Republicans. That was a super strategy because McCain knew the republicans would go on a spending spree just like the democrats.

As I have repeated prior I see no reason to have taxes except those that are necessary services for the government to protect us.

Here are the taxes comparatively under Bush and Clinton.

Help us pay taxes!http://www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html

Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008

Single making 30K – tax $8,400 Single making 30K – tax $4,500

Single making 50K – tax $14,000 Single making 50K – tax $12,500

Single making 75K – tax $23,250 Single making 75K – tax $18,750

Married making 60K – tax $16,800 Married making 60K – tax $9,000

Married making 75K – tax $21,000 Married making 75K – tax $18,750

Married making 125K – tax $38,750 Married making 125K – tax $31,250

A good friend said “democrats are TAX and SPEND”. “Republicans are NO TAX and SPEND”

So are you prepared to pay double taxes with either Clinton or Obama? I hate paying taxes!
